A leading concern at educational facilities when discussing sports equipment cleaning is the issue of antibiotic resistant strains of staph, or MRSA. The problem is that cleaning bulky, heavily padded football protective gear is very difficult. Current methods (see chart below) are ineffective, damaging to gear or both.
As a result of these ineffective cleaning methods, athletes of all ages are at significant risk of MRSA exposure every time they put on their gear.
At Northwest Clean Gear, we are pleased to bring to Oregon and Washington communities the first truly effective means of removing this health hazards from playing fields. What we offer is a fast, convenient and affordable method of sanitizing equipment that thoroughly removes bacteria, fungus, proteins and MRSA.
Given the significant health risks with MRSA, the Centers for Disease Control recommends a steady regimen of cleaning and sanitizing lockers, showers and equipment throughout the season. We recognize that many schools face an ongoing budget crisis, but the health risks of not cleaning gear far outweigh budget concerns. To further assist schools, we have a variety of fund-raising options available to parents and athletic departments. Give us a call to find out more.
