Traditional washing machines – what you probably have in your home – involve soaking articles in water and then subjecting them to intensive agitation. While this works fine for thin, flexible clothing items, it tends to beat up larger items without ever removing bacteria, sweat and other contaminants lodged deep inside foam padding and hidden in protected recesses. Other alternatives, such as surface disinfectants or ozone treatments, have proven ineffective at killing more than just a thin surface layer of bacteria and obviously have no cleaning benefit.

No Agitation: Gentle on Gear

The Esporta system differs in that it was designed specifically for the task of eliminating the sweat, bacteria and mold present in gear. It does this through a patented hydraulic process that forces water, cleaning agents and enzymes through the gear. The gear is held stationary in mesh bags and plastic-lined compartments throughout the process. Because there is no agitation involved, this approach is inherently gentle on gear.  An added benefit is that the process does not require harsh chemicals or high temperatures, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing equipment life.

Another problem with traditional wash systems is wetness. This is a severe problem for leathers and thick, dense items that tend to retain water. With the Esporta system, however, the article being cleaned passes through the water intermittently. Consequently, items dry faster, thoroughly and with less heat.

What Can’t It Clean? Not Much!

At NW Clean Gear we are constantly finding new and innovative uses for our ES3250, not counting a vast array of sports and safety equipment. For example, it is highly effective in removing smoke odor and soot from stuffed animals, suitcases, backpacks shoes and many other household items damaged in the course a house fire.  It has also proven effective at cleaning leather, including purses, shoes and even jackets.
